From a bank statement to management accounts

Import a client's statement and get categorised transactions, a balance check and ready reports — with rules that remember every correction you make.

What it does

What happens to a statement

Imports PDF and CSV statements

Statements are parsed into dated transactions with amounts and running balances. Digital PDFs work best; spreadsheets and CSV exports from internet banking are supported.

Balance check

Opening balance plus movements is compared with the closing balance, so a missed or misread line shows up immediately.

Automatic categorisation

Transactions are matched against platform, firm and client rules and given a category from an SME chart of accounts, with its VAT treatment.

Rules that learn

Re-categorise a transaction and a rule is saved for that client, so the next statement is categorised the same way. Firm-wide rules cover suppliers every client shares.

Reports

Income statement, VAT input and output workings, cash-flow, margins and cash runway for a client and period — exportable to Excel and PDF, and saveable for later.

Review workflow

Filter to uncategorised lines, fix them in bulk, and re-run the rules on anything you have not reviewed yet.

How it works

Statement in, reports out

Upload the statement

Choose the client and drop in the PDF or CSV.

Check the balance

Confirm the statement reconciles before relying on it.

Review categories

Most lines are categorised already; correct the rest and the rules learn.

Open the reports

Pick the period and export what you need.

Questions about Bank Statement Intelligence

Digital PDF statements from FNB, Absa and Capitec, and the CSV, Excel and OFX exports of all the major South African banks. For other PDF layouts use the bank's CSV export. Every import is balance-checked, so a statement that was not read completely is flagged rather than trusted.
No. It produces management-style reports from bank data for analysis and VAT workings; it does not replace your general ledger.
Use the digital statement wherever you can. Clean, straight scans are read by OCR, but descriptions lose detail and the balance check will flag anything that was misread.
